Representations of the Ottoman Empire inArab Gulf Historiography

The PhD project focuses on the Arab Gulf states' historiography on the Ottoman Empire. State-produced textbooks which are taught in history classes are at the core of the dissertation. The texts are analyzed with regard to their historical narratives in order to answer the question of how the Gulf monarchies interpret the late Ottoman Empire in the Arabian Peninsula.
